Where do You Usually Purchase Your Nutritional Supplements?

by Mitamins Team

Where do you usually buy your nutritional supplements? Maybe you're thinking, "Does it matter?" Yes! Only through trusted, reputable suppliers can you be assured you will get the best value for your money. So when purchasing your vitamins and nutritional supplements, be a wise shopper, as you are not guaranteed high quality and effectiveness if you purchase your nutritional supplements at the clearance bin, yard sales, auction sites, or dollar stores.
The Clearance Bin---80% off is really tempting!
It sounds like a great deal to pick over the clearance bin for vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements (http://www.mitamins.com), and find some for up to 80% off. But have you ever considered the quality of these discount vitamins? Cheaper doesn't always translate to better. In fact, nutritional supplements can influence your overall health considerably for the worst if you are attracted to use them only by their lower prices. It is probable that discount products are close to their expiration dates, that formulas are outdated, or the ingredients of the nutritional supplements are sub-par and questioned by health professionals.
Yard Sales---how convenient!
You may find some nutritional supplements (http://www.mitamins.com) at your neighbor's moving out sale. Yard sales are common, and sometimes people will purchase half a bottle of vitamins and nutritional supplements at them without thinking about the consequences. Remember that no single bottle of nutritional supplements can be applied to everyone.
Dollar Stores---one dollar? So cheap!
A hundred vitamins for just a dollar? Cheap...but wait...there are no details on the bottle about the ingredients, production date, or expiration date. You don't even know is the vitamins are legitimate. Are you still going to take a risk and purchase them? The dollar store clerks don't even have information about the suppliers. You can buy a book or a pencil at the dollar store, but absolutely should not purchase vitamins and nutritional supplements (http://www.mitamins.com) there.
Auction Web Sites? Interesting...
Auction websites are popular these days and you can get great deals on clothes, glasses, toys, and books through them, however, these sites are not the ideal places for you to purchase nutritional supplements. Even if you are shown a brand-name bottle of nutritional supplements from these sites, and the seller seems trustworthy, it is still not a good idea to order them.

Weight Loss Videos- Easiest Way To Practice

by Thomas Dubose

Sighing enviously over beach body fitness of the models is passé - one can be as fit as one wants with weight loss videos. Along with the many weight loss tools that are available in the market nowadays, videos motivate the weight loser to keep up the pace of losing weight.
Before even putting the workout shoes to start a weight loss program, the first thing is to be fully committed to the program one has decided on. Every day will not be the same, and even though priorities change, it is vital to remind oneself of the fitness goals and tools like weight loss videos, and other gadgets can help to realize the goal. Weight loss exercise video can include yoga, aerobic routines, cardio exercises and breathing techniques. One should include it in the day planner just like any other appointment that shouldn't be missed!
Weight loss supplements are necessary
On the other hand, weight loss supplements are necessary as the cutting down on the daily food intake could trigger "starvation mode" in the body, as the body interprets the reduction of food as a signal to hold on to the fat reserves and to slow down the metabolism, and the nutrition in the supplements can overcome this factor. The vitamins present in the weight loss supplements can actually promote weight loss, the principal of them being Vitamin B, C and the nutrients Calcium and Zinc.
Weight loss foods
Foods with negative calorie value, commonly known as weight loss foods can be substituted for the normal meals. These include cucumber, watermelon among others and the wonderful part of these foods is that the burning of calories to digest these foods exceeds the calories released by them. It is a good ides to include these foods in the daily diets to weight loss in a healthy way.
Holistic approach
Ideally weight loss should be approached in a holistic way, and should incorporate an adjustment in the lifestyle without giving up too much of what one is used to. For example, a weight loss food can be substituted for a normal meal, or eating out with friends can be supplemented so that essential nutrients are going in to the system. Weight loss exercises can be fun, involving the family, friends or a group, which is a wonderful way to use time in a fulfilling way. Whatever the method, or technique used; there should be a continuous effort to reach the optimum way, and even more effort to keep it that way!!

Weight Loss: Weight loss for teens

by Nicholas Tan

With teen celebrities all losing weight, there is no doubt that there is a trend on weight loss going on. From teenage girls to teenage boys, upper class, middle class, middle school, high school, everybody, it seems, wants to have a slim body.
Dieting is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, when done right, dieting can do great things for the body. Eating the right foods and exercising, which are the hallmarks of proper dieting, can produce a healthy body that is strong and fit.
Unfortunately, the proper form of dieting may take a long while, too long for teenagers who are hell-bent on losing weight the fastest way possible and also the easiest way. The need for a form of diet that will be fast and also easy on the stomach has opened doors for all kinds of weight loss programs. Some target the diet and the food intake of the person. Others go for the exercise part of the diet program. A few target those who want to lose weight in a matter of days and they can only achieve this by going under the knife.
The prevalence of these kinds of weight loss programs that are not healthy and in the long run bad for one's body has alarmed a lot of people in the medical industry. To ensure that your teeners are losing weight the right way, here are some tips that will come in handy.
Show your support
Teeners may want independence but they are much too young to lose your guidance. They still need your support despite claiming that they want to decide for themselves and stand on their own two feet. The problem I guess with most teeners right now is the fact that they are not being guided by their parents in their choice of diet. Some do not even tell their parents that they are undergoing some kind of diet.
If you want to really help your teener, make sure that you show your support. Be their friend and confidante. You may not agree with everything that they want but at least you know what is going on in their lives. This way, you can help them make the right choices and guide them to the right path. As they say, if you can't beat them, join them.
Emphasize more than looks
Teeners who are obsessed enough with their looks to want to lose weight fast are those that do not have much self-esteem or those who place much importance into how they look and not who they are. It is important that parents nowadays teach their children, especially teenagers that there are more things in life more important than looks, that they can be accepted and become successful with other things such as good grades, achievements in the arts or in music, excellence in sports or leadership skills.
Become a good example
There is no right way of teaching your kids the value of the right kinds of diet than by example. If they see you using the easy way out by going under the knife or starving yourself to death just to lose a few precious pounds, you will find it hard to convince them that they should not do it too. After all, you are doing it. Why shouldn't they?

Get Six Pack Abs in 5 Steps

Tony Leong

If you are looking for a way to get six pack abs there are many easy ways to get started. Remember that to do this it will take time but the rewards will be worth the time and energy.
Let's face it. Both men and women love to have their Abs looking beautiful. Whether you are in bodybuilding or not, having an attractive body attracts more people to you and you feel great. A great looking body is a bonus to your self-esteem and you generate a glow about you that makes people want to know more about you.
In order to get your body looking the way you want it all you have to do is sculpt your body in specific ways. Here are 5 steps to help you get that six-pack abs:
1. Take a look at what you eat -- eat a diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables and eat small meals rather than larger ones. You can eat vegetables, pasta and meats but make sure they are in the same proportion. As an example, you might eat 1/3 vegetable, 1/3 meat and 1/3 pasta at a serving
2. Concentrate on body fat -- to get your abs looking great you will need to shed your body fat. You can make sure you eat well, then do a combination of weight training and cardio training each week. A good rule of thumb is to do weight training 3 days and cardio the other 4 days.
3. Drink water -- you want to keep your body hydrated during the time you are working it and when you drink more water, you have less water retention and have a better start towards those six pack abs.
4. Rest -- you need to make sure that you get rest during the day. Short naps are great or however you don't have to lie down and sleep. You just want to take time to do something restful. It keeps stress away.
5. Be consistent -- when you start working on your program make sure to schedule it into your regular routine. If you are inconsistent with your process you will not make the headway that you want.
You might think that doing crunches or sit-ups are the best way to make your abs look better. That was the way that people thought years ago but today this simply isn't true. It is better to work the entire body because it will promote a total body sculpting so your body will be in proportion.
Another good way to help you form that six-pack abs is to make sure you are burning enough calories when working on your abs is to do interval training. This means you might start on a treadmill and run for a short time then quickly go into walking. Combined with dead lifts or plank exercises will give you a total workout.
Practice of course makes perfect and the more you work and anything you do will require a lifestyle change. If you change your routine even a little to start, you will be well on your way to achieving your goal.

The Importance Of Good Carbohydrate Consumption

by Dean Baily

Many people who struggle to lose weight simply have no knowledge of the different kinds of carbohydrates and how they affect the human body after consumption.
People often make the mistake of thinking that dieting and in particular losing body fat is all about reducing the body's fat intake and while that does play a vital role in any diet the importance of fully understanding carbohydrates should not be underestimated.
Heavily processed carbs should really be avoided as much of the nutrients are lost during the many processes they undergo some examples of processed foods include white bread, pasta, cakes, biscuits, candy bars and most soft drinks additionally ingredients such as artificial colourings, flavourings and preservatives are the most common ingredients used in production of these foods.
These bad carbohydrates are usually high in sugar but low in fibre and do not offer the body much in terms of quality nutrition which inevitably leads to fat conversion indeed the human body has a hard time processing these foods at all and the bodys hormones are affected as are levels of insulin, and blood glucose as the digestive system struggles to break down starch heavy foods.
The best carbohydrates are the ones that are in a completely natural and unaltered state and examples of these include fresh fruits and vegetables, wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, nuts, seeds and beans.
These good carbohydrate foods are also high in fibre and generally have a low glycemic index which enables the body to process them easily in addition good carbs are also known to stimulate the metabolism.
If you are finding it hard to shift stubborn body fat even after cutting down on your fat intake it could be advantageous to look at your carbohydrate consumption in detail and make changes where necessary swapping those bad carbs for good ones as this could well be the final piece in your fat loss jigsaw and enable you to reach your weight loss goals.

Mastering the Art of Weight Loss Motivation

by Jamie Jefferson

Sometimes the desire to lose weight is just not enough. It's nice to think about having toned muscles and flat abs but when you get home from a long hard day's work, exercise and preparing a healthy meal may be the last thing on your mind. All you really want to do is rest. When this kind of mood sets in, let the motivation tips below help you change your frame of mind.
Exercise motivation tips:
* Have a friend or family member exercise with you to help encourage you to stay on track.
* Think of exercise as a way to reduce some of the stress that life throws at you every day. Think of it as a gift that you give to yourself---a time to get away from the noise and pressures of daily life.
* Keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more energy you will have. Remind yourself that you will actually feel better after you exercise than you would if you sit down and put it off.
* Exercising helps to improve your immune system. If you are dreading cold and flu season because you tend to always be the first to get sick, you can help prevent it from happening next season by exercising and getting in shape.
* Think about your health. Maintaining a healthy weight with proper diet and exercise can help to reduce your risks of stroke and heart attack, what better motivation do you need?
Sometimes it is even harder to stick to a diet plan than it is to exercise. One reason for this is because you have to plan out your meals in advance and this can be difficult. The tips below can help you stay on track.
Tips for Staying Motivated on Your Diet Program:
* Choose a diet plan that is reasonable and realistic. Remember, you need a certain amount of nutrition and vitamins to stay healthy.
* Start out with a simple diet that you can easily implement into your lifestyle. You can always make gradual changes as needed.
* Plan smaller portions of food for each meal. This will take less time to prepare and you won't feel like you are cheating on your diet when you grab that snack later.
* Use the buddy system to help you stay motivated but do not compare yourself to others. Everyone is different and will reach their goals at different times even when using identical methods.
A healthy diet and exercise program will improve the quality of your health and well-being. You will feel and look better than you ever thought possible. Stay positive and use these weight loss motivation tips to help you lose the extra weight so you can enjoy life to its fullest.
